Oatmeal Pear And Apple Crisp Recipe
This is an easy to make apple crisp that uses only one bowl. It has a mix of apples and pears, perfect for seasonal eating in the fall. Pears have been on sale at the store this month and this is a good way for everyone to eat some of their fruit. I love the crunchy oatmeal topping and crust.Ingredients:
1 cup dark brown molasses sugar
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups apples, cored and sliced
2 cups pears, cored and sliced
1/3 cup dehydrated cane sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°.
Combine the brown sugar, rolled oats, flour and softened butter and mix until crumbly.
Grease an 8″ pan with butter. Lightly press half of the oatmeal mixture into the bottom of the pan.
Spread the apples and pears evenly over the crust. Mix the cane sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the apples and pears. Top with the remaining oatmeal crumb mixture.
Bake for 40-45 minutes. Serve with cream drizzled over the top, or dollop whipped or ice cream on top.
This recipe is good warm or cold. The dark brown molasses sugar and the dehydrated cane sugar are both better for you than processed white sugar because they still have the minerals and vitamins in them. The apples blend well with the pears and it’s a great way to eat foods that are in season. This recipe is a favorite in our household!
